Kathi Howard-Primes is an award-winning educator, entrapreneur, author, and committed community leader with more than three decades of service to Cleveland Heights-University Heights families. For over 31 years, she has proudly called our community home, raising her children here, supporting our schools, and working tirelessly to expand opportunities for every student.
As founder and CEO of Momentuum, LLC, Kathi had led one of Northeast Ohio's top tutoring and educational programs, recognized in both 2024 and 2025 for its impact across Ohio school districts. She is also the author of Walking in Ava's Shoes, a children's book that uplifts and inspires by sharing the story of a young girl thriving with ADHD.
Kathi holds a bachelor's degree from Ohio University and a master's degree from Cleveland State University, and is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program. She has been honored by Who's Who in Black Cleveland, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, the Ohio University Black Alumni Association, and the Cleveland Public Library. She was also selected as a Delta Author by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority National Arts and Letters Commission.

Beyond her professional achievements, Kathi is deeply engaged in civic and philanthropic work. She serves as President of the Greater Cleveland Delta Foundation Life Development Center, and is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and The Links, Incorporated. She and her husband, Marlon, are the proud parents of two adult children, Markus and Kayla.
